Blackjack Tips

The card game known as blackjack is a house game with the edge of course going to the house. You can cut the house edge down by using one of the card counting strategies available out there, but even if you don’t want to count cards you will still be able to win at this game with smart moves. Today we’re going to take a look at some of the best blackjack tips you’ll learn and you need to make sure that you keep this in mind when you’re playing the game.

o You need to analyze the dealers face up card so you have an idea on the chances of the dealer busting before you make your move. If the dealer is showing a 2-6 then the chances are pretty decent they might bust there hand and you shouldn’t risk busting your hand when the dealer is showing one of those cards. If the dealer is showing a 10 or 11 then they have a great chance at hitting a great blackjack hand and you should take more risks to ensure you have a good hand as well.

o Bankroll management is an important step in everything that has to do with gambling and if you don’t manage your bankroll well then you could be in serious trouble. Never join a blackjack table when the minimum bet per hand is more then 5% of your bankroll. You need to allow for mistakes and streaks to take place during a session and if you’re risking more then 5% per hand you don’t allow yourself much cushion space.

o The only time you should double down is when you have a 10 or 11 and you think you’re going to hit a 10 which would give you a good hand. Doubling down involved increasing your bet so you don’t want to double down in any other situations really. You’ll make your money on your double downs so make sure you this play when you get the opportunity.

o Never buy insurance from the dealer even if you think the dealer does have blackjack. I mean if you really want to you can try buying insurance, but if you get in the habit of buying insurance every time you can you’ll end up losing more money then winning. The house has an advantage when you buy insurance so it isn’t worth the risk.

o You should never split any pairs valued at 10 like tens or face cards or pairs of fives. The reason being is because when you have two face cards you already have a 20 so breaking it up isn’t wise. When you have two fives you don’t want to break it up because you’re likely to hit a 20 and you also don’t have many options playing two split fives.

o When you’re playing blackjack in a land based casino you should always try and tip the dealer when you’re winning hands. You don’t need to tip every hand, but it’s nice to tip every half hour or hour based on how you’re doing on the table.
